I took advantage of the morning sunshine to rephotograph this coin I photographed under artificial light several years and a couple of phones ago. This one definitely captures the luster and flow lines and is pretty close to how it appears in-hand. Post your coins with peacocks, Faustina Senior -- anything relevant! Faustina I, Augusta AD 138-141, wife of Antoninus Pius. Roman AR Denarius, 3.10 g, 17.6 mm. Rome, AD 147-161. Obv: DIVA FAVSTINA, bare-headed and draped bust, right. Rev: CONSECRATIO, peacock walking right, head left. Refs: RIC 384; BMCRE 473; Cohen 175; RCV 4594.
That's an attractive coin, and a type I like. Faustina Senior AR Denarius Mint: Rome After 141 AD Obvs: DIVA FAVSTINA, Faustina right diademed Revs: AVGVSTA, Ceres holding staff and raising skirt 18mm, 3.1g Ref: RIC III.71.362
Nice, @Roman Collector ! Sunlight certainly is great for photos! And i love those flow lines! Here's my Faustina Sr lifetime issue Ceres As, sans peacock: So to make it up, here's what seems to be a happy and content Lucilla As with peacock at the feet of Juno:
That reminds me a lot of this more modern coin: https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/myanmar-kyat-km-10-1214-cuid-1118083-duid-1423433
Great looking pic of a great looking coin! Sometimes you just can't beat sunlight kickin' coin illumination!
Lovely coin RC, I hope my less skilled attempt doesn't offend your eyes. RIC 374b Obverse - DIVA FAVSTINA Reverse - AVGVSTA -Pietas with R-H raised, lit altar below ( no box in L-H ) I have only just noticed the Dots on the belly, it was the flow of the strike that always took my eye.
I forgot that I had this Julia Mamaea denarius with peacock at feet. This was taken outside during a sunny day, but this version was in the shade as the sunny ones were very bright and the details were overblown.
