there is an antique shop close to me that has a large black eagle note 1 dollar that is in rough shape not torn but really creased they are asking 75 dollars for it so my question is is that to much to pay for it the date is 1923
she does but for exchange only i got an 1847 large cent and i discovered it was bent and she let me exchange it for something else
why dont you shop around on flea bay and compare the noted there to the ones you are seeing in the lady's shop that should give you some idea then you can decide if the note you saw on the sop is worth pursuing at the $75 price.
Black Eagles are dated 1899. 1923 would be a "horseblanket". A $1 Silver Certificate with George Washington on the front. Either way from your description $75 is way too much. Do some looking and maybe a bit of reading. clembo
i would let it slide. if it is a balck eagle dated 1899, the price is too hugh for such worn condition as you described. if it is a 1923 funny back horseblanket - then it is way to high. i would let it go.
i went back and looked again its the horse blanket im sorry i misattributed it yeah the prices at that place are really high the large cent that i got and found out was bent was 44 dollars they have a 1851 large cent for 58 dollars that one is in better condition but probably only vg to f they have some ok peace dollars but still they are 35 and up for common ones
You should ask how much they are paying for them. You can get the Peace Dollars online in bulk for less than $14 a piece (circulated that is).
quick i am looking to get some peace dolalrd for 14 bucks and morgans too if i can at that price. where at will i find them?
http://www.apmex.com/Category/161/Cull___Off_Quality_Silver_Dollars.aspx $14.20 right now. $13.70 if you buy a 100 or more. They state "Selling for as low as $0.99 over melt value! Off Quality, Cull, Damaged, Cleaned, Polished, etc! (Dates from 1878 - 1935)" so I wouldn't expect key dates or anything that is worth more than melt.
