ok so I did a little research, and I believe this is a 1784 Kopeks from Russia. Can anyone give me a little more info? On ebay they are going for $20-$30. Is this an accurate estimate of this piece? I know the pictures are probably a little fuzzy. I apologize for this. IMG_0345.JPG IMG_0346.JPG

It’s a 5 kopeks from the Ekaterinburg mint minted in 1784. Checking the NGC price guide, it says $25 for F. I’d say $20 is fine. Ultimately, if you like it, buy it.

Here are my bad early photographs of my example. I believe I paid $35 for it. F41E43C3-2515-45F2-AB85-86A8270A8B45.jpeg 6C3ADC11-0D03-41C9-BE5B-93920D09E3AA.jpeg

i'd was looking to buy one a while back from the year of 1816, but never went thru with it...idk, that doesn't sound like a real bad price, like @Milesofwho said, what's a 5ver amongst friends..:)

I have one of these big ol' 5 kopeks and I never get to show it off, check it out! It is a pretty darn sexy coin! These these are huge and feel great in hand.

Too much table, in my opinion. Then again, this was one of the first photos I ever had taken of any single coin I had, period.

Thanks everyone. I was researching for a friend. she inherited it along with some other coins. nothing really that great. Although this is a pretty cool piece. Also, sorry for posting in the wrong forum... I guess it's ancient to me, lol.

Since we're all showing our 5 kopeks, here's mine. I don't remember what I paid but I doubt it was more than $15 because at the time I got it, I didn't spend that much on coins. 1790 russia 5 kopeks.jpg

5 kopeks of Catherine II the Great - are very common coins in Russia. We often find such coins by means of the metaldetector.

I bought this trio of 5 kopecks a couple of months back for around $135. The first two are XF45 and the last one is AU details with some environmental damage.
