I don’t think anyone will complain with these kinds of heads up. If only I had access to my collection, I’d probably take advantage of one of these.

 

I have not ever had a coin graded. I'm not sure it's worth it for me. I wonder though if it wouldn't be better to have some of my varieties encased in plastic (gasp!).

 

Most likely not, in terms of dollar value being worth it. I’ve only had one of my own coins graded, which was a gift for a friend with an NGC registry set. Even so, I want to put a few coins in plastic so my kids can handle them without ruining them.

 

I went overboard when I first started but have made my money back over many years. Now I have to be careful living on a fixed income.

 

I've got the 72 DDO1, some pretty cool errors, a few other bigger Doubled Dies. But yeah, I think maybe I will just stick with 2x2s. Maybe upgrade to the plastic 2x2s I can get at the hobby store

 

At this point, the only thing I'm worried about is not having my really valuable coins slabbed. In the event of my demise, I would not want my sons to get taken advantage of by an unscrupulous dealer or mistakenly dump them back into circulation. Kind of a Catch-22 situation. I could make all the notations I want in my albums and such but would either really have an inkling of what I was talking about or understand and be able to properly research any.

 

Good on you for making your money back. I have almost 300 feedbacks on eBay, but only one as a seller.

 

You could annotate a value you think he should get for them. That will really help.

 

I'm waiting to hear on my grades now.. had 10 coins done for $107 included ship,and varieties attribution.

Slabbed coins will make it easier for our heirs, as long as they know the basics of what’s involved.

 

Too bad they never seem to include foreign coins in their specials.

Yep, like those $400 1999 silver proof sets... or, for that matter, all that 30x FV junk silver from seven years ago!

 

True, but it would give some sort of idea. You could at least write what you paid. I try to do that with my type coins and nicer ones. I also try to keep junk silver together, labeled with total face value. Then all that’s needed is to multiply by melt to get an idea of value.

 

With the Economy service from ANACS, I have never had them meet the initial estimate. Usually takes about 8 weeks.

 

I had 4 coupons that up graded my submission to the next tier.
These were from another promotion and don't expire.
What maybe holding mine up is the 1939 proof Jefferson as when I filled out the sheet I had it listed as an ddo/ddr and at the show the guy missed listing it on the new forum. That's why I called it was changed over the phone.
But customer service said my coins would be done by yesterday.
