Ok fine then.. I will tell you what you want to hear.. Your Cent is Red.. I say MS68 Congratulations. Go get it graded and live happily ever after. Adios
I do see the marks on the pcgs coin now, but still think ops coin is nowhere near a grade that would make submission profitable. Granted im looking at both photos on a phone screen.
You should gather up all these coins that you feel are better than what PCSG has posted and send them in. Maybe that will help you believe what you are being told. It's clear you have learned nothing from the folks here that have tried to help you. The coin you posted in this thread, your coin, is covered with hits and lacks the luster to even grade 65. You must see this. Are you using a phone to view your coins?
I don't believe that I have ever implied that I only want to hear what I want to hear ... So I don't know where on earth you would get that from . Infact I notice that some people are choosing to only hear what they want to hear and only focusing on one aspect of the coin . But Kodo's to Coloradobryan for noticing that THERE IS ALSO A DECENT AMOUNT OF DAMAGE on the MS68 coin rather then just Focusing solely on the coins Luster as if that is going to be the only deciding factor in coins grade . Good job Colorado and thanks for the collective advice .
I guess having Good Luster on a coin is the only thing that matters and it excuses any visible the damage on the coins surface during the grading process . So I'm sorry fellas because I wasn't aware of that part but theres certainly no need for the lame sarcasm for anyone who can't stand having their views questioned . LOL
When you use all capital letters you are yelling at us.. That's when I know I can't take you seriously when we are trying to share our expertise/experience with you.
You are the only one doing that. It's clear you need help learning how to grade Lincoln cents. With each post you say your coin is better than what is post on CoinFacts. You don't understand grading.
If you think it’s MS68RD, send it in. I will be looking forward to your thread about how PCGS graded it wrong when it comes back AU55RB.
You're not getting $11,500. $5 max. And that's if it's MS 63+. More likely $2-$3. Welcome to the desert of the real.
Your coin grades AU-58. See how the high points (Lincoln's cheekbone, jawline, and top of his head) show a darker brown color? That is from the wear. If you rotate your coin under the light, you'll notice the luster is broken in those areas as well. There are many factors that go into grading, and the color and luster are just some of the pieces.
You need to understand that the CoinFacts images you are posting, are enlarged images of a small coin. In hand these coins are booming bright red and full of luster. Those planchet marks you call scars are not visible in hand without magnification. If you had one of those $11000 ones next to yours, it would be like comparing a Lamborghini with a dump truck
Unrelated to the PCGS pics you posted (an entirely different discussion), your coin has some wear. It's a nice AU Lincoln cent.
If your coin was photographed with a camera like the one that was used for the one in your other photos (from PCGS), you would definitely see the huge difference between the two. Yours is an AU and it is not RD. It's a great upgrade coin for a brown 1940 cent in an album, but not worth it to send to PCGS. Go ahead and send it to be graded if you want to learn the hard way.
