Normally I don't purchase coins and currency because of lack of funds, but today I was at my local coin shop swapping silver quarters for ASE's, and I saw a 2011 September 11 National Medal. 9/11 affected me personally, lost a lot of friends and co-workers. With the anniversary tomorrow, when I saw it and I had to have it.

I like these old ANACS holders and I got a deal so, even though I don’t love the scuff on the cheek this one came home with me. I like the toning and good luster, clearly it used to be in a GSA holder.

Looks like a nice seated, I like it.

 

Those light obverse scrapes make me think of some cowboy sliding it across the bar to pay for his whiskey.

 

I know, right? Sure love wondering where it's been. Using the grading guide, I'm thinking vf25 or so for the obv. Vf35 for the rev. The reverse is what sold me.
