I like them. Wicked cheap for nice coins. Under $20 each. The low "value" of these simple civil war era coins blows me away. I'm so used to paying soooo much for decent old coins. Cleaned? Probably. But who cares? you can show them to your grandchildren and let them put them in their hands. And it's neat to compare them to the earlier large pennies. History you can hold!
It's one reason I love my 53 seated quarters, who may have had them. A civil war soldier, his wife waiting at home, Abe Lincoln? Special side of coins.
Nothing earth shattering but good hole fillers for when I get my 7070 going! Seated dime was $5, Capped Half was $35 (not cash, I traded him junk silver value at 10X face ie: The dime cost me one junk franklin half, the capped was 7 Kennedy 1964 halves)
THis is why I am dying to get my hands on a 1790s large cent!! Who knows who held it?? George Washington? A revolutionary War veteran? A bartender?
I've made a few buys like that on ebay, i wish i had more time to hunt for deals. I'm envious of your cherrypicks.
Last one from last night 1922 Peace Dollar - Maybe MS 60 - Traded for a 1921 Morgan of the same general grade
$4 each for these Type B reverse Washington Quarters. The 1960 is the only really tough one, (also the nicest one), valued at around $100. The others are $25-$30 coins.
