I was coin roll hunting here the other night and came across what could be a diamond in the rough?

I’m not very familiar with coin errors, but seems to be a Cracked Planchette and not a Cracked die.

    Thankyou all for looking ✨ 3E2AFF8D-86AC-4DC3-9B38-EEA817F08919.jpeg A94089F7-3BC3-478D-860F-E7BC571CD8D3.jpeg

    It's a lamination crack.

That would be a lamination. The planchet is defective. Somewhat of a minor error as in it won't make you rich, but it is still cool.

I have one very similar to yours only mine is on the obverse and not as peeled.

    They are correct.
Lamination Crack is what it is.

Here is a similar Lamination issue that I sent to get attributed..

Don't be too hard. My autocorrect loves change it to planchette especially if I haven't written planchet in a post for awhile. At least he didn't use a crappy voice to text with no punctuation and creative word choices

Thanks all for replying and letting me know. So this one probably isn’t worth much then?

After I posted it. I realized I said the wrong planchet.

But you all catch my drift

It is unusual in that it is rim to rim, I keep lam cracks for my collection.

That would make a great addition to any collection. A rim to rim planchet lamination on a coin that's 101 years old.

That's a great error Paddy. The label says obverse and reverse so let's ether other side too.

One more suggestion, when you run across 1917's, always check them closely for doubled dates as there are some valuable examples out there. I am not saying this is one, just be on the look out.
