This was a fun purchase. Do you know the mintmark? No, really... because I do!

Very nice!!! And a CircCam too!!

So are love tokens worth a premium? What does the engraving day?

I think it says, "WWF," but perhaps @lordmarcovan would know.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

It looks more like WWP to me.

I personally think these are worth less than an original piece, but many people go crazy for them. They don't do it for me, but some collectors specialize in them (such as the aforementioned illustrious Lord M). The premium is based on the intricacy and artistry of the engraving - for example, this piece shows a basic monogram with no embellishment. Thus, it would be worth less than something with more designs. It is similar to Hobo Nickels in this account - the quality of the engraving determines the value of the piece.

Just to clarify, everyone... the actual mintmark for this coin ABSOLUTELY IS identifiable based on the obverse.

To each his own. I don't buy Love Tokens usually, but this is common for a CC date. However, you can still see a F15 or VF20 details Doubled Die Obverse!
