I have been informed that the 'banknotes' that have been printed in the name of the Bank of Somaliland & denominated at 1,000 Shillings is a fantasy. Here's a link; www.nachthund.biz/CatalogUpdate/Somaliland/SOM076-01.html . These have been seen on eBay,& I have been conned out of US$18.75. as a result. These items are very deceptive. Aidan.
Try this one, http://www.nachthund.biz/CatalogUpdate/Somaliland/SOM0706-01.html If that doesn't try, http://www.nachthund.biz/CatalogUpdate/Somaliland/ That should take you to an index page and then on that page select SOM076-01.html
Roy,I had a look at an example of this item. The quality of the printing is very poor, even though it has a hologram area,& printed on watermarked paper.I am going to return this item back to the vendor. Aidan.
Roy,the seller of that note actually found out that he was being told lies by some idiot in the U.K. claiming that it was a dud. It has now been certified as a genuinely issued note. Aidan.
Also, "Somalia" search here on CT. I got into these Somalis (and CT) just this year. URLs above don't link. Thanks to CT Coin and Yankee Dollar collectors, "furrin" rag-collectors have somewhere to go. Search: Google Images: somaliland banknote 1000
Quite normal for a topic that is more than eleven years old. (Last response before yours was from Feb 2007.) Now this ... ... makes sense. Christian
Hard to find a circulated Somaliland beyond the 5,10,20 (1994 and 1996)... ... without paying $6 (US) S&H. I ain't gonna do it! Indeed, an old post, but Somaliland is gonna move, I just know it!
