    John Skelton Morgan man!

And here is another coin that my friend has and is wondering about it's condition and other things. I am posting two images of the reverse because it doesn't seem right. In hand it's rather indistinct ,and any picture I take doesn't get any better. The weight is 4.17 grams. IHDollar 1929 001.jpg

What? No one has any comments or critiques? I hope you haven't given up on me! :(

The problem with the Indian is that this series is HIGHLY counterfeited.
I am not saying it is fake. I have no idea, and I assume it is real.
So this is one that I would agree needs to be slabbed, in order to guarantee authenticity.

I can't tell from the photos. This is a common date.

And that was a major reason my friend wanted me to post it here. He knows it has been counterfeited, and was wondering if anyone here could tell him that. It's another coin I'll be taking to a dealer for verification. I think that's cheaper right now than sending it off to get graded and have it come back fake.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

We can't tell anything with those blurry pictures.

Well, I couldn't get any better pic of the reverse, and looking at it in hand it even looks blurry. At least the obverse is pretty sharp.

Sorry, but can't help with those blurry reverse pics.

The flip sure doesn't help in getting sharp images. try removing it and stabilizing your camera.

It's not in a flip, it's in a 2x2. As I said, it even looks blurry in hand.

2*2 (flips) are cheap, the photos don't have any definition to them. Just trying to help

I know you are. But I'm confused. I thought 2x2s were the cardboard things, and flips the plastic holders with the two pockets and a good in the middle so you flip them.

Anyway, I'm not doing anything different in taking these pics than I have with all the others I've posted. It's just the coin.

I'm sure the coin doesn't look that blurry - and if it does, it is absolutely fake. Even if its only slightly "blurry" in hand, if the devices aren't sharp and crisp, it is probably fake. That's really what I'm trying to determine from the pictures, but those pictures aren't clear enough to tell.

So you're saying the obverse doesn't look blurry? I don't think it does, either, but there's no difference between the two sides in how I took the picture.

Well, the weight is acceptable, especially for a circulated coin...but just based on your pics, I'd say it doesn't look good. I don't like the look of the obverse, & the reverse..?!?!?!

Another hint might lie in what was paid for this coin! If purchased @ a discount, that would raise a flag!

I can see the fibrous grains in the cardboard fairly clearly in the obverse scan & very poorly in the reverse scan. One can't say the coin is that blurry when the image clearly disproves that point. Also, even the small degree of separation between the coin and the scanner bed (caused by the thicker dimensions of the cardboard) will cause the scanner not to be able to focus on the coin so well.

That said, I do sense some haze....better scans are required to confirm or deny suspicions though.

How so? Everything always sells for fair market value?

I thought these were inherited by the friend through grandma.
It's unlikely they are going to know what was paid or how it was acquired.

Where was that stated? All I read was that it was possessed by a friend.
