Bought an ASE for my kiddo for her birth year (2014.) She loves to hold it and has accidentally popped it out of the capsule a couple times. I acetoned it twice to get her prints off, not like it’s worth much but just habit I guess.

Tonight I came home from work and she had dug into the very back of a drawer I had it in, played with it and it was once again covered in prints. I realized:

    1. She has now done what I did with my great grandfather’s Morgans when I was her age. Heartwarming realization.

    2. No more acetone! Gonna be much more valuable (to me) toned up with her tiny prints. :) (and more importantly...more fun for her.)

Don't let her look at any of your more valuable coins lol!

That’s a good point. She could wreak havoc on my type set in short order. o_O

Just give her some boundaries, unless you are around, teach her how to preserve them.

Since my daughter was 2, she would hold every coin like it as a '93-S Morgan in 65. I had to let her know that the stuff she gets back at the store was ok to hold like change. It took her until she was probably 5 to know the difference. I never had her mis-handle any of my coins. The people at our Coin Club got a kick out of it too.

The finger prints will tone nicely and be worth their weight in gold.
