im new to this... i found this, what do you think?

    I know and that is why I was wanting more eyes on it to see what you all thought.

    I actually thought it was an eight at first.. then I put it under the scope and almost freaked out lol

    The date was altered and then it made it's way back into circulation. Sorry.

    You think so.. ? Hmmm. Okay, guys thanks for your opinions. Much appreciated. I will send it off to be graded and then let you all know what comes back. Thanks again.

    From the pictures, it looked like zinc to me...sorry.

    Take it to a dealer somewhere first, "grading" isn't cheap.

    I thought that year was only steel and a few copper.

    The steel were plated with zinc to keep them from rusting.

    The 3 on a 1943 looks nothing like that. That is an altered coin.

    Yeah but it didn't coat the edges so it would be rusted. I have steel ones and they look so much different then this

    Save yourself $50+. Google a pic of a 1943 steel cent and compare the 3 to the one one your coin. It will be obvious that yours is fake.

    Welcome to CT!!

    The date is either altered or took a hit in a convenient place imho. I also think it is a 1946. Either way it is not worth getting graded.

    The "3" on the 1943 isn't high up either.
