Here it is in Copper. And here are the other 2 from the series, also in copper The reverse of all three are identical Collecting copper art rounds is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. I do not stack copper rounds. Just collect the series I find attractive.
New pickup thanks to my buddy WL. The dark section under UNUM on the reverse is actually a mirror finish that looks like a black spot through the lens.
Finally got this in the mail. My first Morgan in years. sure looks different in daylight. Now to purchase a capsule.
So you're the one who out bid me for this. Lol. How do you get your EBay bids to say "private listing?"
That’s a seller setting when you set up the auction. ...sorry! Jury’s still out on this one as far as the surfaces... I think it should be here today so I’ll take some new pics.
Yeah, the mirror finish doesn’t translate well in photos. Unlike the feeder finger rubs on those Morgan’s there is no rub on the 43 Lincoln.
The feeder finger marks on the Morgan's are actually left on the die. The polishing is then transferred to the planchet upon striking. It's just like your Lincoln, in that the cent has no actual rub.
I don't generally show off coins yet, this was my latest and best acquisition. Aside from the great coin & grade, I paid $64.98 which is less than half its value.
Don't think this would grade well enough but definitely going in a capsule. And then in my display case. Thinking of one like this from each mint.
So, I got this dime the other day. Pretty sure it's PMD but not sure what could have caused it. Weighs in at 1.36 grams, so it's almost a gram lighter than a normal dime. Any Ideas?
This one is on the way to me. 1909 VDB 66RB PCGS, CAC, great mattelike surfaces and some pretty emerald color amid the sandy-gold. And here is a little better type coin! 1854 three dollar, first-year type (actually a one-year subtype given the smaller DOLLARS than on all later dates in the series), and a fantastic high-end MS63 (I think this may go back to PCGS for another try) which is definitely going to CAC. Super honey-gold luster! Enjoy! Kind regards, George
