Value / grade 1854 Half Dollar w/arrows

    Hello!

    How would you grade and value the half dollar in this photo?

    I think it might be XF40 but would like input on surface condition and potential value.

    All inputs appreciated!

    I happen to like this one. I believe you are at every bit of XF. I think the surface presents as an honest 165 year old finish. Personally I would give $175.00 or so for this one.

    Thanks for the input. PCGS price guide says $200 in XF40 and think that’s not too bad. Ask on this is $380 so guess that’s why it hasn’t sold yet.

    I also like it very much, and think the surface looks original wo cleaning, but always hard to say for sure with only photos so great with some second opinions

    Yes, I would absolutely say that $380.00 is strong. That is about what I paid for the seated half in my avatar. If they aren't willing to move on their number, I would move on.

    It is saying $130 in the dealer greysheet for XF40. $380 is hoping to find a sucker.
