    Hello everyone,

do you see any red flags?
    Weight and Measure is perfect.

Would be a candidate for my Dansco7070.

    Thanks.

I don't think it's real. It should have more detail.

I am no expert with Trade Dollars, but I agree with Idhair. Especially with the soft appearance (look at Liberty's head/hair and the eagle's feathers). It looks 'off' to me...

Something really looks wrong with it. It looks too much like the ones on Aliexpress.

The reverse really gives it away. The fields have full luster, but the devices have VF/EF detail. This is a fake.

If you’re going to buy a trade dollar, do yourself a favor and buy one slabbed. Fakes are all over the place.

Yeah. An AU details, cleaned one would be a good crackout candidate for an album.

On the obverse, the right leg (back leg) is wrong. It is too round at the top, and there is a big gap between it and what I believe is supposed to be the ocean on the left side of the coin. Unless there is a design that I don't know about, which is possible, this looks like a pretty obvious fake, to me. Sorry.

Looks like a fake. Lack of detail and surfaces characteristic of a counterfeit.

This is a cast fake that has been altered afterward. Note the absence of fine details from the design and the raised details below the second L in DOLLAR.

    here's a real one.
Compare the reverse text "united states of america" .. the thickness of each letter part, etc. E Pluribus Unum ribbon, etc.

One thing I initially look for is the lettering.
I've noticed US coinage is extremely consistent. The one you show isn't. On your coin (a) compare at the "D" in United to the "D" in Dollar. (b) also compare the two "T"s in States.

Then compare it all to the image below

Thanks a lot, I do not buy this coin.
This coin is an offer from a German coin dealer and should cost about 175 Dollar.
    Thanks for preventing a mistake.

Another Chinese fake...I bought one of these last year from a dealer friend, sent it to ANACS, came back in body bag, dealer refunded my money, and now I only buy them in a slab. Mine looked much better then this one, with much more detail, no pitting, weight correct. Never buy one ungraded unless it's guaranteed.

Did you tell them you were concerned it was a fake.
I'm curious what their response was.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

100%, no questions asked fake. Look at the overall "mushiness" of the design - a true struck coin will have sharp, crisp detail.

The dealer did not replied, but arranged his offer in a new way.....as a counterfeit with now lesser weight and reduced price.
    24,-- Euros

Thanks all for the help.....it's good to be here.;)
