It has evidence of a cleaning.

I'm ok with the grade but the price seems a bit strong.

Dig over the head makes it a details coin. Some old hairlines in the fields aren't too bad, but the dig kills it. Would make an awesome album filler, though.

I had the same thought as John. It looks like someone started to make a hole out of this coin, but gave up. I like the overall look of the coin but that mark above the head got me wondering how it made it into a holder in the first place with an actual grade.

My first thought as well. Then I saw the dig. I wouldn’t buy it.

The PCGS price guide is $345. It bothers me the QR code is blacked out.

The old cleaning doesn't bother me too much. The price does.

The mark above the head and the price both bother me. Not a fan of the old cleaning either.

I really like the reverse of this coin, but the obverse has enough detractions that I'd stay away.

What does the QR code on a slab do? Link to the coinfacts page? Upload it to the registry?

Yes it does. I have a "PCGS CERT" App on my phone. You can either use the QR code or the digits on the front of the slab. It will take you to the exact coin in the PCGS database. It's really useful, especially when bidding on slabbed coins online.

Here is a link to the PCGS Apps page. They have several.

The aborted hole on the obverse makes it a no-go for me.

Last Sunday while setting up at the show table topic what else will PCGS slab that is not only questionable ,but also flat out trash?
It amazes me how many coins I see with pcgs slab wraped around them that I wouldn't purchase raw.
Yet the collectors still drink the kool ade.
