1972 D Kennedy Half DDR?

    So This Kennedy half is in one of my 1972 D mint sets. Here are some pictures, can you guys tell me what you think?

    Again (as someone else showed pics like this and so I'll answer the same way). To me? They look like DD's. I own some and I certainly would like to believe mine are genuine. They look much like some of mine.

    Machine doubling, interesting but not uncommon.

    There is a lengthy thread where members have been posting real doubled dies. I suggest checking it out.

    Kennedys are notorious for machine doubling. I am not sure if yours is a doubled die, but if it is, it's so slight that I would leave it in the mint set.

    I’ve started setting these MDD examples aside thinking they were something, but is it now a correct assumption that they are spenders? What about extreme examples such as this 72 D?

    Not worth anything over face really. I do keep some of the more extreme examples I find though.

    I'm new here and have a 1972d half dollar and I'm proud to be here in the community. I'm learning a lot from you guys. Now I know my 1972d is just machine doubling. I'm not gonna spend it tho because it has no fg. I have I digital microscope and no sign whatsoever of the fg. Got it in my first bank box.
