I agree. I would just love to see what that would look like! Spread out, what a site that would be to see a roll of 'keys' like that, hope they are all in nice shape, but with those it almost doesn't matter.Goodluck with your jackpot!

You'd better keep an eye on that lawyer with the coins. Not that I don't trust lawyers ... fine outstanding professionals that they all are , but ... how do you know what's in that roll right now. Maybe it won't be the same as what you get. Just fair warning. I'd get down there a.s.a.p to see what's up ... or maybe it's already too late. Best of luck.

I agree, thats quite the gift she left you. And it would be nice of you to do something in her rememberance. She must have really loved you, and Im sure that you loved her. But, incase you dont realize, your coming off as sounding alittle too happy considering the circumstances.

    Agreed....

I would take one, kiss it, and put it in her casket as recognition of her kindness.

    My condolences to you.

wow whata noble thought i would sell all of the coins and donate all the money to good causes and maybe even start a trust under her name that would be a real thank you

Pupa - I am very sorry for your loss - family can never be replaced and they are the ones that love unconditionally! I am happy that she left you something she knew you would enjoy and appreciate so much. I wish I had anything from any of my grandparents - who have long passed! I hope they are all AU or better and I hope you will pass at least one to each of your kids as a way of remembering her.

    Best Wishes!

    Darryl

Read all the responses and the obvious question, to me anyway, is how well did you know your granny and vice versa?

Won't say anymore just would like to see a response.

    Respectfully,

Something wrong here. What's the condition of them? That's all she left, a roll of 16-d dimes.

I am sorry about your grandmother, my wishes to you and your family.

Post some pics of that roll. It is pretty amazing that you got a whole roll of a very key date!

With all due respect, Clembo, I don't think we need to put him to that, I think we made our point. Maybe we can suffice it to say, he's a serious collector. Maybe a little too serious...

When they read the will, did they actually say a whole roll of 1916D Mercury Dimes??? Or did they just say a whole roll of 1916D Dimes???

Hard to believe..I'd like to see a picture of the 50 dimes. What condition are they? Who would keep such a rare coin in a roll? I think he's happy his grandmother died. Sound's that way..

dont forget to post your address and all your personal details here as well. we want to know you exist as well. guys what does it matter if he got 50 or 100 1916d mercury dimes or nothing at all. we have nothing to gain or lose by accepting his word at face value

probably not. rolls of these are relatively common (as far as key dates go), in fact unc rolls have been known to turn up from time to time.
