Wait till the 'returns' come flowing back. They'll be available again in a week or two.... Still, surprising that they did sell out (to this old sod).
Not so sure. The end days of selling were slow and steady, not typical of a speculation boom. They also did "drag up" regular proof set sales, as if people were buying "sets of sets".
I await the ads that will confirm or refute this. Could well be. I'm trying to think of a clever marketing angle, and so far, I'm not getting one I like.
That's the problem.......the guys who were looking to market and capitalize on this issue didn't get there. Only the future will tell, with these issues, as to whether or not they will appreciate in value. Anyway, any collector who wanted one got a fair 'crack' at it.........
Kurt? Stop changing your avatar.........it's becoming more, and more difficult to recognize you.......
I googled "Luke Skywalker The Last Jedi" and found this one. I'm actually more of a Star Trek nerd myself but I remembered the final scene in Last Jedi ... oh, and I see a few reverse proof sets on the Bay, priced anywhere from 4.95 to 149.00. I predict they'll settle around half-issue price in a year or so.
Great question for a lazy mind like mine! Ignoring the base metal coins, I get: Dime: 90% x 2.5g = 2.25g Ag Quarter: 90% x 6.25g x 5 coins = 28.125g Ag Half: 90% x 12.5g = 11.25g Ag (2.25 + 28.125 + 11.25) = 41.625g Ag At 47¢/gram spot silver, I get 41.625 x .47 = $19.56375 So, yes, $27 would be a premium over spot.
