Has anyone else noticed this? Twice in the last three days I have gone to PayPal, paid with "send money" and not gotten an e-mail notification that I paid for more than two hours. Also, when the notifications didn't come I checked my "summary" page (and refreshed it) to make sure I did pay, that summary was not updated either. This morning I paid someone two hours ago and still have no evidence I did. Two days ago I didn't see acknowledgement I had paid so after two hours I paid a second time, thinking I must have make a mistake the first time, and ended up getting a refund on the second one when they were both acknowledged by PayPal later. What's up with that?
Rumor has it they are doing site upgrades. Could be a glitch in the software. I have noticed some changes in page set up's lately.
I hit this same problem earlier this month. Sent money and it took 3 hours for the seller to see any notification of it and for a while it didn't even appear in my account. It used to be instant, I've even managed to buy stuff at a yard sale with PayPal before and have the transaction completed before I was back in my vehicle, so this current trend of laggy transactions is quite worrying.
Yes, the site has been excruciatingly slow. I thought it might be my WEB browser so I tried using a different program and it was still sluggish. Then I tried using my smartphone with no improvement. I placed a call to the help line and was on hold for over a half hour—not really sure—it seemed like a half hour —but had to hang-up because I had an appointment.
I did not use Pay Pal recently but even Ebay crashed on me several times yesterday and froze up while I was trying to do re-listings.
Paypal is and always has been awful IMHO. Got screwed royally by them once so no more paypal accounts.
Here is an update on the OP. Just now I logged into PayPal and sent today's payment again and got an instant acknowledgement. Maybe I did something wrong the first time today. This evening it worked like the rapid PayPal of old. Two days ago it did not.
