Hi All Found this in my world coin box and dismissed it for a while. Then I liked harder and it is really nice. I think it’s at least AU and maybe better? Thank you!
VF-30. There is quite a bit of wear in the lion's tail, hind quarter and leg, as well as some of the background at 2:00 to 3:00 on the Obverse ... and to the flowers and leaf tips on the reverse.
This is why I asked! Thank you. Coin was so small And I’m unfamiliar with these so good to know what’s going on. Thanks!
I agree - VF-30. I think grading Foreign Coins is almost more of an acquired skill, as there are so many different coins.... compared to the set Standards of U.S. Coin Grading.
I think I'd call this a high VF. I don't think it quite makes it to EF. However, if you look at the price guide, 1931 is one of the key dates for this series. It's probably worth $7 - $10. And, just to let you know how foreign coins are graded compared to US - foreign key date coins are graded more harshly, and that would bump this to a solid VF, US key date coins are forgiven more which would bump this to a low EF.
