How to assess 5 old coins

    I probably misunderstood and/or got it backwards. My main points were (a) I couldn't see any difference and (b) LCD-2 didn't mention it.

    Yes, and the neighbor who made the recommendation has been collecting coins since 1970. He has almost 8,000 transactions on eBay (not all coins) with a 100% satisfaction rating.

    Quite right. Overall, I probably did OK. If I had it to do over, I would take them to my neighbor for a look and then maybe send them to be graded and let him offer them on eBay. I was in no hurry to sell, so I should have just been more patient. (sigh)

    Impulsive behavior makes people do things they would not otherwise.
    Buy / Sell stuff. Can't do much about that other than learn to walk away and not be in a hurry for anything.
