I would like to buy a coin scale, one that plugs into the wall. Price second to quality. Can anyone lead me to the right product. thanks gil

Why a wall plugger? I use an antique pan balance. No juice, no batteries, just physics. But then again, I don't waste my time weighing 1982-D cents in the impossible search for something that's not out there, either.

Why don't you get a digital scale? Small, cheap, lightweight, accurate to 0.00 which is good enough for most coins.

Google "Gram Scales" & find one that suit your needs.
I have a small battery powered one I got at Cabelas.

I use an AC scientific scale that is accurate to the millionth of a gram. Its just something I happened to acquire but I in no means recommend that beast of a scale to be purchased for weighing coins, lol.

What do eddy currents do to an instrument like that? Or is it used inside a vacuum chamber?

They wreak havoc on weights but luckily it's an enclosed scale. 3 glass sliding doors, 1 on each side and 1 at the top.

    Sounds like a beast.

Accurate to SIX decimal places! How do you isolate it? That would pick up vibrations from passing vehicles or people walking close by.

Heck, if it's anywhere in the continental 48 states, my REACTION to most CoinTalk THREADS should register!

Vehicles have never been an issue that I've noticed but yes footsteps will resister. Even writing the displayed result down on paper nearby will cause vibrations affecting the result.
