    Hey guys,

So a coin I bought from eBay finally arrived six days late! I just want some other thoughts on this coin... Is it cleaned or dipped or whizzed or anything, or is it naturally BU? Thanks for any help! : )

Looks good to me. The luster is still there from what I can tell.

Looks cleans to me there is damage on the rim and some pock marks. That says to mee there should be a darker cent from circulation but still very nice. I would say it was professionally cleaned by a jewelry steam cleaner.

Looks mint red. The rim damage is a detractor that may give it a details grade at a TPG.

    Maybe satin or matte Proof

Oh good lord.... it's Unc red. It's a business strike. No it is not a matte proof in any way shape or form.

I'd say MS64 RD. I dont think the rim nicks are too big of a deal but won't allow it to be graded higher. Put it in a slab and it will be like the rim nicks aren't even there.

Believe it or not, these were the pictures from the auction I won on eBay... It looked horribly cleaned and damaged in the pictures. I think I took a very big risk buying it for $52... Thanks for all your help!

I still think $52 is too much.

Looks like a GSC picture. If so, buy at your own risk.

The latter pictures look more cleaned than the first.

I'm questioning whether or not this is MS. Do you see light wear on the high points?

Id return it if I were you. Even if it is uncirculated and uncleaned, with the rim damage, it is probably only worth half, maybe less, than what you paid for it. If you really like it, keep it. I'm just saying, I think you paid too much for it.

I've already listed it on eBay for $90 to see if anyone will buy it because it has free 30 day returns, and I don't want to potentially miss out on a $40 profit...

Also, while we're talking about old BU wheats from this seller (by the way it is not GSC, it's fairviewcoins) here is another one I saw in his store. Based on the pictures from the 1911 and what it really looks like, I think this coin would be a very nice one indeed... So it this coin cleaned or not?

This picture looks light to me, and so looks cleaned IMHO.

In real life, I don't see any wear except for the beard, and it is pretty common for old BU wheats to not have much detail in the beard.

I'm curious why you think that coin will sell for $90 when a seller like Fairview coins, who have over 26,000 reviews, only commanded $52?
