Close. Look at the space between AM and ME. They would be equal if it were wide.

Why the mystery? There really isn't any need for it.

The reason I am asking is I seen so many videos...and so many images..I am now confused...I heard from one popular video..the 92 for the close am is to be close or almost touching..this is a 1999 P...and the others I have are touching each other.

Fine, but there are only certain dates that effect WAM and CAM.

I see you posted the date. Sorry for forcing you to disclose state secrets.
Your coin is a close AM.

The following list of confirmed variations are valuable in order from most to least rare:

    • 1992-P Business Strike Close AM
    • 1992-D Business Strike Close AM
    • 1998-S Proof Close AM
    • 1999-S Proof Close AM
    • 1999-P Business Strike Wide AM
    • 1998-P Business Strike Wide AM
    • 2000-P Business Strike Wide AM

This is why I am asking, my 1999 P is wider than my other 1999 Ps. And not really sure on the difference between the width, however I believe one person helped me on that with the AM and the ME being the same width.

If it's a wide AM . it should have a flared G on the Designers Signature, on the reverse of the coin .
