Hello all! Found this interesting one here. Looks to be a DDR but none are noted for this date nonetheless the location. Any ideas? 36D09DA6-5FFE-4760-A66A-6AD1B3A6B47F.jpeg D1FA260C-57E8-45F6-ABC8-A534D9559560.jpeg

I've not seen one like that. Could be.
May also be a die chip, since this would be a high point on the die that was chipped off in the corner.

Interesting. I don’t believe it to be a die chip just because it doesn’t have that very distinguishable blobby metal appearance typical of die chips, but does have that interesting extra detail look of a doubled die. Maybe Ill send it to Wexler!

I would but I just busted out the microscope. I thought it was an optical illusion based upon some tarnishing / environmental damage that appeared before to be a shadow. I think this emphasized the possible doubling but at the time I thought it wasnt doubled. I used a small piece of metal to lightly scratch away any gunk to see whether anything could pop out. Bad choice. I kept doing it (what I thought was lightly) and looked at it again...
    Im rather devastated :(:(:(:(
    I still see doubling.

    Ahhh don't use metal. :nailbiting:
Maybe a toothpick. I've also heard a rose thorn. A little acetone and Q Tip can do wonders.
But, I did it too to one of my coins that I still kick myself about.

It's so unfortunate lol. Ill keep it now as a reference coin bc I can keep an eye out. Ill probably check all late 80s and early 90s dimes. At least I learned my lesson! I'm not totally sure because Im at school right now but when I get home I'll see if it's a die marker or PMD but the mintmark appears to be missing the bottom half of the P, I originally thought it was a 1990-D.
