Can you post some clear pictures of both sides of the whole coin. It is hard to tell anything from just small sections. From what I can see it looks like it may be badly corroded.
I agree with corrosion. Could be dipped in acid. Always post full pictures of the Obverse and Reverse.
What you can see of the coin surfaces in those picture looks like it is probably an acid soaked coin.
A "week" strike, huh? Never heard of one so slow. Seriously, when coin is THAT corroded, you can pretty much discount any other issue. The damage IS THE ONLY story of the coin.
Because it starts with a 99.9999% likelihood there is no "there" there. Then, if it has damage, ESPECIALLY corrosion damage, that likelihood jumps instantly to 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% Stop. Paying. Attention. To. Damaged. Coins. Don't ask why, just STOP IT!
The "victims" are us, when we need to read threads like this. A nothing coin, horrible optics, weird lighting angles, sheesh! See post #10 - says it all. When the OP took the first picture, EVEN THEN too many resources were lost on this. To say nothing of uploading it here. Have you stopped for a moment to reflect upon how many HORRIBLY damaged coins debut here as some kind of "initial find error"? Come on! This simply does not work like that, and it's high time more people get real frank about that truth. The YouTube / Internet disinformation machine is out there hurling metaphorical nuclear weapons onto our hobby, and it's time we push back.
hey I think 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 % of PMD posts are a waste of time as well
My "favorite" type are the people who insist their "no S" coin they found are actually a valuable impaired proof instead of what Occam would tell us - a plain old circulation strike from Philadelphia. Just think a moment about the psychopathology that sort of thinking requires.
