    I'd rather not acquire it.

Can't believe the reverse proof set hasn't sold out yet.

The only ones that want it are hard core collectors of 'modern' issues and the ability to make money on this issue was 'shut out' by the high mintage factor........score one for the 'collector'.

For the most part, I believe Ken is correct. I’m not a hardcore moderns collector, but this set simply got my curiosity up. Glad I got one and glad everyone else who wanted one has apparently been able to bypass the flippers.

Exactamundo my friend........everyone that wants one gets a shot at it. Minted in numbers so all will have a chance at it........Rarities remain on the unclaimed items.........

Answer me this question: What does the Mint do with unsold moderns after a certain period of time?

They melt them or destroy them...........

Until at some point in the future they go to sell them and find that due to the high mintage there is no aftermarket and they can't get back what they paid for them. And they become another item in the list of item collectors lost money on by buying directly from the Mint. The Mint can't win. Limit mintage and values rise in the aftermarket, collectors complain that they got shut out and couldn't buy them. Increase mintage and keep them on sale so everyone has a chance to buy them, and collectors complain that there is no aftermarket and they are worth less than they paid for them. No matter what, collectors complain.

I ain't complaining. I'm having fun. I know these things might not appreciate at all down the line, but I don't care. It's my collection, and it's my 'junk'.
