Buttonshoe Bill... [ Hobo Half ]

    This is my latest carving, It,s Buttonshoe Bill on a 1964 kennedy half..

    It,s takes about 8 hours to carve a coin like this, some may take as long as 35 hours..

    I always like seeing your coins I think you are very talented. And I hope you keep posting your newest carvings. But I am curious to see if you have you ever carved Clad coinage??? Or would you have to carve too deep in order to reach the copper to get a two tone affect??? If thats the case, Would zinc lincolns work??? The copper layer isnt very thick on those.

    Before i retired a fellow worker showed me a hobo nickel and asked me if i knew anyone that could carve one, i said i thought i could, that was 11 years ago..It,s a great hobby, but i,ve been aiming to switch over to gun and knife engraving for 3 or 4 years and will probably wake up one morning before long and say, this is the day i,m going to switch and leave the coin carving to new coin carvers..
