Most likely just a metal detecting find but it’s weight is .25 grams lighter than an average quarter. .25 grams is also the weight of the nickel content in a quarter. Let me know if you think I should get it graded.

Got a call from a “no account” teller last week while I was out of the country in Ireland saying she had $190 in CWR halves. Told her I would buy them but could she hold them until I got back. She obliged and today I bought them and found:
    1952-D Franklin
    1964
    1964-D
    1968-D
The best part is she said she would keep a lookout for any others that came in and give me a call. She’ll be getting some homemade cookies soon!

I’ve been on vacation and then out of state for work the last two weeks, so no opportunity for searching halves. I’m headed home tomorrow so I’ll search a few boxes this weekend and post results here. I’m looking forward to the search. I believe I’m due for a box with more than one silver coin!

    Good luck all!

I picked up two boxes of halves from my bank today and I'm curious if anyone has ever seen rolls wrapped like this? These pics were taken after the sealed box was opened. There were 50 rolls and each roll contained 20 coins. All I got from it was a 1974-S impaired Proof, 2005-D NIFC and a 1983-P no FG. IMG_9939.JPG IMG_9940.JPG

I picked up 2 boxes of halves this evening as I drove home from the airport. The teller also rustled up $3 in loose halves, 1 of which was a ‘67!

First $250 from the first box had no silver, but there were 5, 2017D NIFC in MS condition, so not a total loss so far. I’m too tired to continue searching tonight, so I’ll update y’all tomorrow eve.

    Happy Hunting!

Not mine, I dump mine at the CU no fee coinstar. Plus that is a Brinks box and I only get Loomis boxes. Interesting though a Suntrust in my area that I occasionally drop in because the head teller orders half’s for others told me Brinks in that area at least will no longer be boxing half’s. They now come unrolled in bags. Picked one up a few weeks ago and it was much quicker to search.

    No Buffalos!

Dang, I went to get my first box of nickels of the year hoping to find a buffalo. First off, the bank didn't have a full box: I got only $80 of mwr nickels. To make matters worse, there were no Bison roaming the rolls. Just these four keepers:

Oh, well, better luck next time.

    Happy Hunting!

Went through 4 rolls of nickles and found a 1945 S war nickle, condition about F-12.

Second half of half dollar box 1 was a flop. Just a couple NIFC.

Second box of halves was much better!

This was a stupendous box given it was from my town. I am very happy!
