Welcome to Cointalk Based on your photo's your 58 appears to have a die chip I'm not seeing a Doubled Die as far as 2nd one die chip also.JMO Dave
Yeah I'm not thinking it's a die chip on the reverse side on the "U's" in pluribus. And the obverse on the date the R and S in TRUST. And further more the B,E,And T in Liberty also on Lincoln,s hair on the back of his head. But I did zoom in on it further more then the pic. Thanks for your opinion its greatly appreciated and aknowlaged.
This coin appears to have been polished with something like brasso..looks shiny. Your coin is not a doubled die if, you want to continue looking for doubled die coins and you are interested on learning this site is a good resource which to learn. http://doubleddie.com/
I figured it was also cleaned by some sort of cleaner, I happened to get it in change over the weekend. I was surprised to find a coin this old and in pretty decent shape and in circulation. Put it under lower power microscope at work and seen some doubling in few places and I like getting experienced feedback on subject matter I'm not yet well read on yet. Thanks for your information, much appreciated.
The second coin the die chip I referred to was on the rim of course that's based on your photo it could just be damaged.JMO Dave
