    OLA,

Another thread just for US Cents. Well coin collection surely is lots of work of sorting, counting and learning more about them.

I'm very fascinated with the older dates and it amazes me to see some old coins in good condition after 30+ years in circulation.

    Lets see where this leads.

    Happy collecting everyone.

    Robert

    Not an error. Just damage.

Still a nice old coin though :)

Man that is several thousands of pennies. I can tell you're going through them, separating and the rolls. Lots of work.

    Thank you.

Have one of those as well, how can you tell if they are proof coins. I found this one with the PR on the back and would like to know if it's a proof. I has a lot of luster as a proof would have but it appears some luster is gone.

They have to be minted from San Francisco "S". How the way coins are stored will have an impact on their appearance. I store my coins in a food saver sealed plastic and open them when I need to go thru them. Otherwise they are sealed to prevent from toning or tarnishing. Same way I handle my silver flatware.
