Hello everyone! I picked up this coin a while back, and I first off I was wondering if it looks to be the real deal. I know only around 33,000 were said to be made, so even though it weighs about right and it passed the magnet test I would like another opinion. If it is real, it looks to be in decent shape (although cleaned, unfortunately). If it is real, what grade would something like this be? Thank you so much for your help, and have a wonderful day!

Too bad about the cleaning, although it looks like it is still in fantastic condition. I would guess the grade to be the same as @alurid in the range of XF to XF+.Very nice coin . The cleaning does lower the value, it would depend on how deep the scratching is . I have heard that cleaning a coin improperly can reduce the value up to 50% depending on how harsh the cleaning is. Your coin looked like it has been cleaned ,although I have seen many that were lots worse then the condition of yours. I am guessing that it would still retain a decent value for the coin due to the low mintage , and the cleaning is not overly harsh. Dillan
Do you mind me asking where you obtained this coin from? Hopefully somebody can come on and tell us if they think that the coin is authentic. this is kinda why I asked the question where the coin come from , it may be help with authenticity. thank you Dillan
What is the weight of the coin , and the diameter ? There is like most other nice coins, a Chinese knockoff or fake of the same coin . The best thing to do is check the weight and the size , and match these to the real deal . The real coin has a reeded edge also . Maybe somebody who collects these or knows more about the coin then I do , will chime in and give us a more professional perspective for you. dillan
Thank you for the info! I work at a coin store and obtained it there. The coin weighs 23.3g and has a diameter of ~33mm, give or take a few mm. This coin also does have a reeded edge.
Thank you for the info , it seems to have all the correct information. Good for you ,I hope you got a decent price on it. it holds a pretty high value according to some of the guides. A nice coin to hide away for a rainy day when you need some cash , or for an heirloom to somebody close to you when that time comes. It was a pleasure talking with you . Get yourself a nice holder , or possibly send it in for evaluation by one of the coin certifiers and have it placed in a hard case. I like to be able to physically hold the coin, once and a while, just to feel it in my hand and wonder the journey it took to get to where it is at today.
