I had a coin shipped on July 30 processed through the ISC-NY on August 2nd - so 7 days of waiting and no word yet from the USPS. I suppose it is a long wait to clear customs. The weird thing is that my last coin made it through in less than 24 hours, whereas my second to last coin took 8 days.

Just have to be patient I guess. I'm going on vacation next week and am stopping the mail, so it may be an even longer wait.

Last coin I had get stuck in the ISC-NY it never came out. That was over a year ago. Customs said it was in the USPS' custody, USPS said it was in customs' custody. Neither was willing to look for it. Good luck though.

The accuracy and adequacy of the seller paperwork has an impact on how long customs will hold material. I buy regularly from two European sellers; one in Germany, one in Austria. For one the shipping routinely takes two weeks with FedEx. For the other it arrives in two days by the same carrier.

    Different strokes for different folks.

Yes, stay patient! Don't worry about it at all. :) It will come when it comes. We are in peak holiday season right now, so I'm sure they must be running on fewer staff at Customs. Among other things. I can't wait to see your new coin though. :D

If you have a tracking number what is the last status shown on the web page?

I recently had a coin spend 33 days with the status "Inbound Out of Customs" (according to usps.com) and "Postal customs clearance is complete" (according to Swiss Post post.ch). I was sure it was lost. A few days after both the Seller and myself requested an inquiry it started moving again.

The coin arrived today!!! Tony my USPS mail carrier apparently didn't scan the delivery as it didn't show up in the USPS tracking system at all since the scan that it had passed through the ISC and was headed to customs. So a pleasant surprise!!!

Drachm of Marcus Aurelius minted at Alexandria, as Caesar. Here's the seller's photo...

I'll take some snaps as soon as I get back from my biz trip this week...
