    Hey all,

I have trouble differentiating mints for Diocletianus CONCORDIA MILITARVM coins. I have a Z(7th Officina)/XXI

Is there a certain way to tell if this is an Antioch coin or one from the other possible mints?
I hope someone can shed a light on this.

    Welcome to CoinTalk, Damy!

That's because Wildwinds isn't a reference book and it is nowhere near a complete database, which is not to say it isn't a valuable resource. You'll need to look in RIC or some website which dives deeply into the coins of Diocletian. Maybe someone who has a copy of RIC will look it up for you.

You could also try the hit-or-miss approach of looking for a match in CNG's archives or ACsearch.

Also, it's difficult to see the details of your coin which appears to be in some type of cardboard holder with mylar. Pictures of the coin unencumbered by the plastic and shown full-size in the post rather than as a thumbnail will generate greater interest and will increase the odds of your questions being answered :).

Oh-- if after definitively identifying/attributing your coin you find that an example isn't represented in Wildwinds, submit it for inclusion :) (with a better picture)

OCRE can be handy for this, it’s based on the RIC numbering system so is pretty thorough although it doesn’t have images for every type yet

    Good luck!

Always post both sides of the coin.
