Howdy Guys, I was looking through the ending ebay lots and saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/PCGS-COIN-GRADI...goryZ530QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem If you don't have this one, it is well worth the price it is at. I paid around $25+ for the first one and have since then gotten another copy that I paid around $15 for. I think Ken Potter sells this book on his site for around $49. It is the "PCGS Grading Guide", and while I don't agree sometimes with their grading, I do really like this book. I find that it helps me with my grading if I read everything I can about grading--this book is one I really enjoy. Anyway---I thought I would post a link in case anyone wanted it. NOTE: I don't know anything about the seller Speedy
Is that the First Edition? I have the 2nd Edition and the price tag says $17.95 ($19.95 non-ANA member). I'd spring for a few extra dollars and get the current edition (unless you collect numismatic books).
I think this may be the 2nd ED. If I remember right they printed a new edition of this book a few years back, but they made it smaller in size. Speedy
This may sound rather stupid. How can a company come out with a version two of a grading book? Do they change? Has the grading techniques improved?
Typically later editions come to be because the 1st editions are no longer in print. So they publish another edition so that people can find the book to buy it. And yes, sometimes things do change - sometimes they don't. The ANA is up to the 6th edition of their grading guide now. And other than additional information that is not found in earlier editions, there are only 2 small changes in all of the grading criteria.
