Found this in a grab box with foreign coins and bought it for $4. I got these for $1 each from a box of holed and damaged wheat cents. Are they genuine clipped planchets like I believe them to be? The 1955 cent shows a minor blakesely effect but they others don’t have it. And finally... I found a horribly damaged 1909 wheat cent in the same box as the clipped planchet cents. This was also $1. How did I do? All replies are welcome.
Nice finds, I have a small collection of coins with character, people who don't love collecting coins always seem to gravitate towards the odd/interesting
I like the character of the 2-cent piece. I think the top two clips look genuine, but the bottom one looks fake.
The 2¢ Piece is cool, that coin served its porpose. It is a large motto. Clips are ok, a little pricey. For condition. The 1909 would be the sleeping dog.
The clips look genuine and the price was good, the two cent for $4 was also good, I would have passed on the 1909.
