I haven't purchased many coins lately but when I saw this one I had to have it. It may be a details coin but it's not very often seen. Hint - it's a cousin to my favorite reverse die. :) 1891O.obv.1.2k.JPG 1891o.rev.1.2k.JPG

Bought a nearly complete buffalo set. Lots of mid-grade better dates in it and it went cheap. Here's one I like.

Yes, a pre-clash example and yeah, they seemed to have issues in the New Orleans mint. Lucky for us, right? ;)

One more recent purchase. It's a top 100 variety albeit very common.

Wasn't Chiang Kai-shek ruler of China in 1932 ? And wasn't there a war with Japan,
    also in 1932 ?

He was ruler of China until Mao and company ran him out after World War II. Then, he led Taiwan.

You're quite right, Santinidollar, but you mention no years, and you don't say a word about Japan. The war between Mao and Chiang was a civil war.

I believe you’re right about the war with Japan in 1932. No, I had to refresh some history. It began in 1937 and Japan occupied large portions of China until the World War II surrender.

The Morgan dollars of 1888 and 1891 are - are they not ?- of silver. I have a similar one of 1899. It was cheap but quite a nice coin, with Miss Liberty.

Maybe I should have mentioned the civil war between Mao's forces, and Chiang's. It was, of course Mao, under the Communist banner, who won. And, for better or worse, China was revolutionised.

Sweet! Looks like a gradeable FR2 or AG3, but idk if it would be worth it.
