I believe you’re right about the war with Japan in 1932. No, I had to refresh some history. It began in 1937 and Japan occupied large portions of China until the World War II surrender.
The Morgan dollars of 1888 and 1891 are - are they not ?- of silver. I have a similar one of 1899. It was cheap but quite a nice coin, with Miss Liberty.
Maybe I should have mentioned the civil war between Mao's forces, and Chiang's. It was, of course Mao, under the Communist banner, who won. And, for better or worse, China was revolutionised.
