Well, I've finally set aside the time to begin fully organize (for display) the old Blue Collar Bust Half Dollar Collection (BCBHDC). Nearly ever coin I've acquired over the past year was quickly attributed, logged in on an excell file (which I lost when my computer crashed), then it was either slipped into a binder or tossed into one of my told cigar boxes... Think I got them all and will now carefully attribute and arrange each by date, variety, and grade. Here is a shot things right now. Some of the slabbed coins will be a problem and may end up being cracked out. The older ANACS slabs will fit ito the slots but the larger NGC, PCGS, etc... Take Care Ben
GO BEN GO.... RAH RAH RAH... : ) and no I am NOT waving pom poms... OR wearing one of them short skirts..
Cool ! This would make a great display at a coin show. Any plans to exhibit ? I would be eager to check it out. Great work, Ben.
Thanks Guys, As far as showing it, I'm afraid online might be the extent of displaying for now. The physical location of the collection and me precludes me attending any shows. The closest show which I happened to miss (LOL) was in Sioux Falls (350 miles) this past summer. Heck, I've gotta travel down to Denver this spring (550 miles to meet with Steve Herrman) just to get a shot at inclusion in the BHNC. Trust me, living just outside of the South Dakota Badlands has it's pros and cons... Take Care Ben
Freezin's the reason. Always remember that "only the best go north". 92 Strategic Missle Wing, SAC, Minot AFB, ND, 1979 - 1982. Nice collection you have there Bone!
Folks can learn a lot more seeing all those attributions up close, and not just from a book ! Super cool. I think it's great when people specialize and really dive into a single series. CB Halves are a great choice. Thanks for all your research. Your knowledge benefits many.
I wish I could say that it did. I was a base level computer operator and only got to the flight line during Global Shield operations and then I spent more time playing cards then I did "simulating" the loading of aircraft. I did however get to see the SR-71 take off from Minot after it had to land there to do some repairs. THAT was fascinating. I spent 83-86 at Sumter AFB with the 2020 ISS, TAC, before I separated "honorably". I was told that once in SAC always in SAC, so going from SAC to TAC was special for me. Who knows? At Sumter I never tried of seeing the F16's flying. Anyway my career in the AF was a grand time from me.
Oh, that's okay. I thought you were a Missile Maintainer or perhaps a Launch Officer. I was an ElectroMechanical Team Member/chief then Flt Chief when in Missiles... Take Care Ben
Sadly, in some cases, the coin/variety I needed was encapsulated and I just left them like that. Currently, I've cracked out two which wouldn't fit in the sleeve pockets. Take Care Ben
