Hey Folks, I’ll be heading back to the states here in a bit for a wedding and will be in the US for a short period of time. It’s prime window for me to utilize my NGC credit to submit some of my US Type coins for grading. I have personally submitted a total of one coin to NGC and don’t quite know what the best methodology would be. I will likely be submitting between 5-25 non-gold US coins. What flips should I be buying (or ordering from NGC?) and shipping to my US address? It is my understanding I can submit as many coins as I want in one submission. Does that stand for when I have to use two forms? Anything I should consider when I ship them out? Any other time recommendations or things I might overlook? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
When? Where? NGC will be at the World's Fair of Money in Philadelphia in 2 weeks. I'm submitting some new Mint Errors at the show.
Typically the TPG's want 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch flips. You can have up to 999 coins per submission (That's why there are three digits after the dash on the serial number, the first part is the submission number and the three digits are the line number on the submission) Doesn't sound like you have to worry about that. As long as all the coins in the submission are the same service tier multiple forms would be one submission up to 999 coins. If there is more than on tier then it would be more than one submission and each tier should be on it's own form and you will pay the $8 or $10 form fee for each submission. (one tier, multiple forms = one submission and one fee, two tiers = at least two forms and two fees.)
Most informative, thank you. Any suggestions on what company to buy the flips from? Also, what are some best shipping practices? How do you minimize them rattling around in the flips?

I use labels that 'wrap' a bit, so they can fold over the edge and the flip is closed a bit on one side. Technically you aren't supposed to tape them closed, but the label is just a bit of extra 'protection'. And, I make sure it's only a little bit that doesn't involve the actual printing of the number. The longer/skinnier ones do that 'keeping the flip closed' thing better. Then I rubber band the flips together in appropriately sized bundles so they don't move, and then I very liberally stuff with whatever packing material I have lying around from incoming boxes. Peanuts, bubble wrap, whatever. I make it so nothing moves.
