You could probably get a low grade details 09-S VDB for not much more than that.
Might as well have a genuine coin.

How can you protect yourself against once these coins are in the hands of an unscrupulous seller? I don't mean Aliexpress because they tell you their product is a counterfeit. I mean someone who bought one and is trying to to sell it on the retail market as a genuine coin.

Simple, don't buy from someone you don't know. Always buy from a respected dealer who has a good track record. 100% good feedback on ebay is easy to obtain but is no guarantee if you don't know the dealer. And respectable dealers would not offer this garbage.

Right on Tommy........guys? Limit your buying to folks you trust. I know that is hard for some of you 'new' guys, but you really have to build an affiliation with a reputed dealer before you go 'dabbaling' in such stuff. Kripes, the fakes abound.

What I meant is I wonder how many unfortunate newbies get sucked in by these fraudsters. What I would like to know why are they allowed to advertise this garbage in the Country that has the originals coins. Why does not PCGS sue these freaks and tie them up in court . I am sure they have a few lawyers on staff that could make this happen. This makes me sick . No problem @Green 18 I slip into wonder land every once and a while but manage to land back where I supposed to be. No apologies necessary !! Glad to see that this is being brought to everybody's attention. The only way I can see that they can legally do this if they pay for the rights to produce these and sell them. There must be some money exchanging hands between the people who own the rights , and the producers of these fakes. This Alibbba or what ever has been on the internet for several years doing this , and keeps on doing it. I wish the money people would squash crap like that , oh well, glad you are all warning people to stay away from the freak show!!

The real problem is trying to convince the Chinese. They have no problem with fakes as long as it ain't their own coinage. Tells ya a bit, Ya?

Not really - that coin and it's description really exists in the PCGS database. They just try to fabricate a reasonable facsimile to fool the untrained eye. And they keep getting better.

By looking at the coin itself. These look like crud due to bad production quality. Over-reliance on the cert is what gets people caught up with such poor fakes.
