Just picked up a nice 1723 Wood's Hibernia Farthing. I think I now have 4 coins for the 1723 slot of my prime number set (Rosa 1p, 2p, this guy, British shilling). I may have also reached critical mass on the Wood's coinage basic set to constitute somewhat of a commitment to building the set. The Rosa 2p and this farthing were both CRO "Early Bird" purchases, and the Rosa 1p was sort of an earlier bird purchase from him.

The color on that is just about perfect.

On the reverse, what has she got in her hand? Please tell me those aren't supposed to be her fingers.

Not her fingers. She's holding someone else's severed hand.

    (No, not really.)

I'd call it a palm frond.
