I'm completing a circulated wheat cent collection and my mental debate it whether to buy it or not. If it is raw like all of the others, I run the risk of counterfeit, and if it is legit and certified i'll pass out from the price tag and is it even worth it.

Thoughts comments opinions concerns questions ideas theories evaluations considerations all are welcome

I would not even think of buying a 1909-s VDB unless it was slabbed. This is a case of not being penny wise and pound foolish, IMHO.

I agree with @Santinidollar ! Get yourself a slabbed one. I can't afford one right now but some day I will have one. I truly think that's the way to go unless you are an expert at being able to detect counterfeits.

Yeah thatll be a while, I'm a teenager making 8 bucks an hour and I have more pressing bills to pay. So the S VDB is out of my scope for a while
