One of the neatest sample slabs that I have ever seen, this is a 1980-S proof Roosevelt dime, labeled as 1880-S! (One can only wish). Perhaps it is worth a small fortune on ebay as an error slab! Comments?
sell it whiel the going is good youc an also labe the auction as an 1880 coin that wa smistakenly labelled 1990 becoz of int error that could get yu a bigger premium to see how many people sign up for that auction
Yeah, it is. Sweet slab Treashunt. :thumb: I have a PCGS sample slab (a rattler slab) but I think yours is cooler.
I doubt he'd pay a fortune for it, but he might pay a couple of dollars. I already emailed him about this thread.
Cameron is the guy behind sampleslab.com. I have a lot of respect for Cameron. It was really great watching this young man over the years. He knows his stuff. Edit to add. I agree with Greg on this.
If I had something so cool, no way would I sell it. Where you going to get another one? Thanks for sharing !!
Very interesting! You would think that during sample slabs process, there would have been a lot less examples to go through and yet that bizarre error.
Ben: Absolutely nothing! It is supposed to be an example of the quality of their work! I have a number of sample slabs, but grabbed this one at a show last month. Just as an error sample slab it seemed pretty neat.
Treas, If that is the case, then they just fell into the same rating tier as SGS!:rolling::rolling: Frank
Frank: Nice, I can see the adds now: "SGS, we can screw up as much as NGC! So use us, at least we know that we suck!" LOL
Well, when it's supposed to demonstrate the quality of their work I can see how collectable it is now. BTW, have the lowball offers started coming in yet??? Take Care Ben
Hi, i also have a number of sample slabs. From different grading companies also if i remember right! Mostly Michigan state quarter sample slabs, their an interesting niche i think.
No offers yet, but I am sure that you'd go for 9 cents. and AUBU2: (for some reason I can't get this thing to do double quotes). Yes they can be fun and interesting. At the ANA in Milwaukee I got a PCGS sample Bison slab. (I can hear the groans from Ben all the way in NY).
