Not sure about this 1961 D Nickel

    Can anyone give me any information. Is it a Dryer coin? The rim slightly cover the date and some letters.

    No ma-am. That is a spooned coin. I may have even been guilty of creating that one in my formative years. Tap a spoon around the edges of a coin enough times and it draws the rim up like your nickel. Do it enough times then drill out the center and you have yourself a homemade ring.... The things we did before we had internet gizmos.....

    Although I'm going to use a hammer rather than a spoon.
    And then swear up and down that it must be a mint error.
