Hi,I asked about this coin way back in 05 but just got my scanner hooked up.It is very plainly marked as an 1828,not a 1928.Is it a fake or an error or what?I BELIEVE it is 90% silver but have never tested it.I bought it at an online auction from a reputable seller who had it listed as a 1928.Any help is GREATLY appreciated as I am (obviously) no expert. Thanks,Steve
P.S. Unfortunately I have no idea how to post the pics of this coin, but if someone in the know will contact me I will be happy to send them via e-mail. Thanks, Steve

And another thing - that 1828 Peace dollar is most likely a Chinese counterfeit. They are notorious for making fantasy pieces like that.

Still, a 1828 Dollar Coin? 1804 I could see, but 1828? Seems some counterfeiters are sniffing too much of that pot metal castings....

I have a couple of Chinese fakes that fall into that category. As soon as I get some good pics I'll post them.
