OK last one for now and I’ll stop bugging you. It doesn’t show any place where it was crushed to press any of those down, so is it from when it was minted?

I'm not quite sure exactly what you're trying to ask, but your coin displays a rather severe case of die deterioration. It's rather neat but not something collectors usually pay up for, unfortunately.

And don't worry about asking questions. As long as you're willing to do your part and try to learn, the vast majority of folks here will be happy to help. Welcome to the forum! :)

No.. It's a worn die strike.. Die Deterioration strike on both sides

    Color looks way off. Unnatural

It looks to be a 1982 P (Philadelphia) dime so you know where it was Minted.

If you looks closely on the front (Obverse) around the edges you can see the metal flow striations. Pretty neat when you can clearly see that. no added value, but you can see when it gets crushed how the metal flows around the coin.

Pretty worn out dies too. Which now because the design is not so "crisp" more metal is needed to fill out the design, which isn't there .. so the design looks mushy or "not completely pressed". Hope that helps .. hope I got it right too.

maybe someone finger polished it. So got the high spots, etc. nice and shiny.
I've done that before just to make stuff look "nicer" before I spent it or put away in the abyss.

I have a couple of these. Got them in roll hunting. Doubtful if rare...
