Rescued coins forever from circulation. 1960s from the top 1970s (only 1 coin)2nd row 1980s 3rd & 4th rows 1990s 5th & 6th rows Happy collecting folks.
No mint quarters for 75-76. That is why the US Mint came out with 77 and 77 Drummer boy. I have 5 P and 14 D of 1971 and they are one of the lowest mintage numbers.
I see how it skipped from 74 to 77! Thanks for telling me about this because I was wrecking my brain trying to find one, lol!
The drummer boy 1977 looks cool. I have 14 of those lucky coins as I'm not expecting to see any of them and then suddenly I found some.
It is just corroded. Its been in circulation for more 53 years. It's been exposed to moisture. Once I complete like 15 rolls, I use a foodsaver bag vacuum and sealer bag to suck any air and seal the plastic. They will never rust forever as they will never be expose to any moisture.
I posted a picture yesterday of a 2001 north Carolina quarter with what seemed to be clad issues, and someone commented that it was environmental damage, but I saw several of them online, saying they were clad issues. I am a beginner so I have yet to understand what it is. I will try to upload it here so you can see it.
Well of course it keeps telling me that I have low memory when trying to post. Do you know why it keeps telling me that?
All clads tends to corrode overtime depending on how much moisture exposure they are exposed. That will not happen to silver though.
Environmental damage means a lot of things like a coin has been rubbing against another rough metal or surface that can damage the surface of a coin. Together with exposure to water or any liquid that can cause corrosion on the coin. Maybe that coin has been buried on the sand or dirt. That surely can cause any coin to corrode quickly. I have seen coins being found in parks and they are dirty and corroded and some are newer coins.
Just left corner store and found a 1982 d, and 1983 p. There are a few errors on the 83, such as the first few letters in Liberty are further away from the edge, the letters in In are stuck together and in between 9 and 8, loos as if it's peeled off.
